Start Your POAHow do I get a power of attorney to sell a car?
Answer a few questions online and add your details and ID. We prepare it, you approve the draft, then you sign at a notary in the UAE or from abroad.
Is this a special power of attorney?
Yes. A special power of attorney is for one specific job, here your car. A general power of attorney covers everyday affairs instead.
What if the car still has a loan on it?
You can ask for a condition that the loan is settled with the bank before the car is transferred. Tell us when you review your draft.
What if the car is in a company’s name?
Then the power of attorney is given by the company and signed by someone who is allowed to sign for it. The form asks which applies.
How long is it valid?
For a sale you can choose until the transaction is complete, which counts as one year for the notary fee. Otherwise you choose one year, two years or longer. The notary fee is about AED 100 for each year.
Will the RTA or ITC accept it?
No document is guaranteed to work with every authority. We check what the intended recipient currently requires before preparing your POA. The recipient still makes the final decision.
