Common questions

Yes. Many Blanket customers live in Dubai.

You can complete the Blanket process online from Dubai. We prepare your UAE will, arrange Arabic translation where needed, and guide the registration steps.

You do not need to travel to Abu Dhabi for the final notarization appointment.

No. A UAE will covers your life here, and for many people, that is all they need.

But expat life often crosses borders. You may have assets, family, or responsibilities in another country too.

Blanket starts with your UAE will, then helps you understand whether your estate plan should also include something else, such as a power of attorney or a home-country will.

No. Blanket is not a traditional law firm.

Blanket is an estate-planning platform for expats and cross-border lives. We bring the process, documents, legal expertise and practical steps together in one place, so you do not have to figure out each country separately.

Our process is lawyer-designed and supported by real people, including lawyers, but built to be simpler, clearer and more affordable than the traditional law firm route.

Blanket is best for UAE expats who want a more practical way to protect their family, assets and wishes.

For many people, that starts with a UAE will to cover the basics: children, property, bank accounts, executors and guardians. For others, it may also mean thinking about assets back home, family in more than one country, or powers of attorney.

Blanket helps bring the UAE and cross-border pieces together in one guided process, so your estate planning does not sit in separate places for your family to work out later.

You are assigned a Blanket specialist who manages your case, answers questions and tells you what is needed next.

You can track progress in your dashboard and ask Noor, our AI assistant, quick questions at any time.

After you pay, we assign a Blanket expert to your case. They review your answers and help prepare the documents you selected.

That may include your UAE will, a power of attorney, or another document that forms part of your estate plan. If anything is missing or unclear, we will let you know. You can then review the drafts, ask questions, and request changes if needed.

For an ADJD will, the final steps usually include Arabic translation, signing, submission to ADJD and the online notarization appointment. We keep you updated as the process moves forward and tell you when anything is needed from you.

Most people complete the online assessment in around 10 to 15 minutes.

After payment, we assign a Blanket expert to your case, review your answers and prepare the documents you selected. The drafting timeline depends on what your plan includes and whether anything is missing or unclear.

For an ADJD will, once the draft is approved, we arrange Arabic translation where needed and guide the signing. The will is then submitted to ADJD, and the final online notarization appointment is assigned based on ADJD availability.

Please note that regular ADJD notarization appointments currently have a wait time of around 3 months on average. Faster registration options may be available depending on your situation.

No. Blanket’s fee is separate from the ADJD court fee. The ADJD court fee is paid separately to the court.

The current ADJD fee is AED 950 for an individual will and AED 1,900 for mirror wills. We show these fees clearly before you pay so there are no surprises.

Blanket’s fee covers the online will process, preparation of your draft, review of your details, Arabic translation where required, and guidance through the registration steps.

Court / government fees are paid separately.

This is uncommon because the will is prepared using lawyer-drafted wording and checked before submission. If ADJD asks for a correction or change, we help update the will and guide the next steps.

If ADJD rejects your will because of an error attributable to Blanket, we correct it at no extra cost. If it is still rejected after reasonable corrections, we refund Blanket’s fee.

Tell us during the online questionnaire. A UAE will can often include overseas assets, but in some countries a separate local will may be better.

We flag this where relevant so your UAE will does not sit in isolation from the rest of your estate plan.

UK wills are available now as an add-on, with more jurisdictions being added.

Yes. You can include digital assets such as online accounts, crypto, domains and other digital property. This helps your family understand what exists and where to find important information.

You can update your will if your situation changes, for example if you have a child, buy property, move country, change executors or update beneficiaries.

Ongoing updates are available through optional Blanket Membership.

Because the process is structured and digital. Instead of starting from a blank page and billing by the hour, Blanket uses a guided online process and technology to make the process more efficient.

Blanket is online by design. You can create, review and sign your documents from home, with our team supporting you through the process online.

This keeps the process efficient and avoids the cost and friction of traditional office-based legal services.

Blanket was created by people with experience across UAE law, banking and digital products, including Wio Bank.

We combine legal experience and technology to make estate planning simpler for lives built across borders.

We use secure systems and strict access controls to protect the information you share with us. Blanket operates through a licensed UAE entity, and we treat customer data with the level of care we would expect for our own families.
